About Us

CB Marketing was born in January 2004.

Owner Chris Butler identified a service in the market place to assist business owners and managers with their marketing effort.

There are owner/managers who don’t really have the time to plan and co-ordinate their promotional activity to its full potential, and those who know their trade very well but are not experienced in marketing.

CB Marketing was born to fill that need.

Today CB Marketing has a comprehensive list of clients they have helped and continue to help on an on-going basis and the demand is growing.

CB Marketing is owned and operated by Chris Butler who has over 16 years experience in business and event promotion.

As well as his own freelance contract projects, Chris has had many years experience working for and running businesses in the real market place and understands the difficulties faced today.

Some of his projects have been:

Barbara Kotua

Barbara has over 20 years experience working in media including The Nelson Mail & The West Australian newspapers. More recently she was the Sponsorship & Events Manager in the Marketing Department at The West Australian Newspaper Group in Perth, Western Australia, managing the many facets of sponsorship initiatives, client promotions, brand and event management.

Barbara managed a portfolio of around 100 sponsorships encompassing businesses from the arts, entertainment, charity, community and sporting sectors, sponsorships which included “The Western Force” Super 14 Franchise, “West Coast Eagles” &  “Fremantle Dockers”  AFL franchises, “Perth Glory” A-League football franchise, “Perth Wildcats” Basketball franchise, “Hyundai Hopman Cup” annual international tennis event, Black Swan State Theatre Company, Sunset Events, Perth Royal Show, Luna Cinemas International Film Festivals, Revelation Perth International Film Festival, Variety WA and other major brand clients of The West Australian Newspaper Group.

After 15 years in Perth, moving back to Nelson was definitely a lifestyle choice for Barbara and her husband and after working for a large organisation, she is now very excited about the opportunities and challenges presented by working back in her hometown.
